Case Study – Workplace Misconduct Investigation
A leading labour law firm in Luxembourg engaged BDO Luxembourg to investigate allegations raised by a whistleblower at one of its clients concerning incidents of sexual and moral harassment.
BDO’s investigation involved a thorough review of communications, internal policies, and interviews with the whistleblower and witnesses. The aim was to assess whether the company had followed its internal procedures, acted appropriately, and retaliated against the whistleblower.
At the conclusion of the investigation, BDO submitted a comprehensive report to the Inspectorate of Labour and Mines (ITM). Based on the ITM's recommendations, BDO carried out a phase two remediation project, which examined previous cases of harassment and the company’s investigation procedures. The results were presented along with a detailed plan to address and remediate the issues identified.
