Legal Guide to the Right of Access in the GDPR

The GDPR establishes the Right of Access as a fundamental entitlement for data subjects, enabling individuals to request access to their personal data and understand how it is processed. For organisations acting as data controllers, this constitutes a legal obligation to manage such requests efficiently, transparently, and in full compliance with the principles of the GDPR.

We are pleased to present the “BDO Legal Guide to the Right of Access in the General Data Protection Regulation”, which includes current practices regarding how to respond to data subject access requests. The guide draws upon the European Data Protection Board’s guidelines in terms of procedure and content, and includes examples of national case law that help clarify these obligation.
