The protection of personal data is currently regulated by the modified Act of 2 August 2002 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data.
In 2016 the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has been adopted by the European Parliament in order to strengthen and unify data protection for individuals within the EU.
This regulation, which does not require any enabling legislation to be passed by national government, will enter into application 25 May 2018 and will increase data controller’s obligations: keeping of a register, taking into account privacy by design and by default, in some cases designation of a Data Protection Officer, ...
